Green Trade is a social enterprise – a business with a social purpose. Through social enterprise, the community has the opportunity to participate in building a better, healthier, safer community by supporting Green Trade in the form of paid contracts for meaningful work.
By participating in real work in the formal labour market, with the support of Green Trade, people who face barriers to employment have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, support systems, and motivation to “restart” their lives.
As the social enterprise arm of the John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick, Inc., Green Trade is an extension of the good work done by the JHS. Trainees at Green Trade must complete a work orientation program that includes job-specific training, first aid, workplace safety, and customer service. They are coached and mentored on the job to continue developing their skills.
Green Trade trainees are available to employers in the Greater Moncton Area and beyond as experienced, trained, capable workers.
